Clifford Russell, Jr. was a 2012 Democratic candidate seeking election to the U.S. House representing the 1st Congressional District of Illinois. Russell was defeated by incumbent Bobby L. Rush in the Democratic primary on March 20, 2012.[1]

Russell ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing Illinois' 1st District. Russell sought the nomination on the Democratic ticket. [3][4] The signature filing deadline was December 27, 2011, with the primary taking place on March 20, 2012. Incumbent Bobby Rush defeated Russell in the Democratic primary on March 20, 2012. [1]
