Colin Beavan was a 2012 Green Party candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 8th Congressional District of New York. He was defeated by Hakeem Jeffries on November 6, 2012.[1]


Beavan is the founder and executive director of the No Impact Project, a non-profit that helps people help their communities and their planet. He is on the board of directors of New York City's Transportation Alternatives. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Liverpool.[2]

Beavan ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent New York's 8th District. He sought the nomination on the Green Party ticket. He was unopposed in the primary on June 26, 2012,[4] and was defeated by Hakeem Jeffries on November 6, 2012.[5]
