A Columbiana Children Services Mill Levy was on the November 3, 2009 ballot in Columbia County.

The mill levy called for a 0.75-mill levy for children services. If approved, the levy is expected to generate $900,000 a year.

In 2008 a 1.5-mill levy for children services was presented twice throughout the year and was defeated both times. The 1.5-mill levy would have generated approximately $2.3 million a year. However, in 2000 and 2004 voters approved a 0.75-mill levy for children services.[1]
