HARTFORD Connecticut Republican candidate Andrew Roraback has dragged Governor Dan Malloy into his general election race with opponent Elizabeth Esty for Connecticut's 5th Congressional District. He stated "If you don’t like what Dan Malloy has done for Connecticut, you are not going to like what Elizabeth Esty will do in Washington," in a press conference at GOP headquarters.[1]

The 5th District seat will be vacant due to current Democratic Representative Chris Murphy's bid for the state's U.S. Senate seat.[1]

The comment was meant to tie Esty to Governor Malloy, whose favorability rating has slipped recently. Esty's campaign has made similar comments as well in an attempt to link Roraback with more controversial conservatives in his party.[1]
