Amouzouvik ran in the 2014 election for the U.S. House to represent Tennessee's 7th District. He sought the Democratic nomination in the primary on August 7, 2014. The general election took place November 4, 2014.

Amouzouvik ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Tennessee's 7th District. Amouzouvik ran unopposed in the August 2, 2012 Democratic primary. He faced incumbent Marsha Blackburn (R), William Akin (I), Jack Arnold (I), and Lenny Ladner (I) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[4] He was defeated by incumbent Marsha Blackburn.[5]
