Cynthia Nava (b. June 23, 1952) is a Democratic member of the New Mexico Senate representing District 31 from 1993 to 2013.

Nava has weorked as Director of Special Education at Gadsden Public Schools. She has also been Deputy Superintendent of Gadsden Independent School District. Nava earned her B.S. from Western Illinois University. She went on to receive her MA from Eastern Illinois University.

In June 2011, Governing Magazine named Nava one of 12 "Democratic Legislators to Watch." Each of the legislators was selected on the basis of qualities such as leadership, ambition, and political potential.[1]
