Robertson is running in the 2011 election for Louisiana House of Representatives District 5. She faces incumbent Alan Seabaugh (R) in the primary election on October 22, 2011. Because Louisiana uses a blanket primary system, a candidate can be declared the overall winner of the seat by garnering 50 percent +1 of the vote in the primary. However, if no candidate reaches this threshold, then a general election will take place on November 19, 2011.

Campaign themes

Robertson outlines three main issues on her campaign site:[2]

  • "Make Louisiana a PRO-business environment. Grow our economy by reducing taxes that burden our small business'. Look at how we can help not hinder our Haynesville Shale partners. Louisiana has many natural resources let's use their revenue wisely."
  • "Education, Education, Education- I have migrated to the field of education and WE- government, parents, legislators need to work together to get Louisiana on track. Not all students will go to a 4 yr. University; instead of letting our population leave our state to find employment, WE need to make a labor force available to industry so more Companies will locate here."
  • "Make sure that when laws are written, they have the support of our law enforcement agencies and can be enforced."
