Daniel Blue, Jr. is a Democratic member of the North Carolina State Senate, representing District 14.

Blue served in the North Carolina State House from 1981 to 2002 and again from 2006 to 2009. From 1991 to 1994 he was Speaker of the House. He joined the North Carolina State Senate in 2009. He has served in that position since, representing the 14th district.

Blue earned his BS in Mathematics from North Carolina Central University in 1970. He went on to receive his JD from Duke University Law School in 1973.

Blue was an employee at the Law Offices of Terry Sanford from 1973 to 1976. He has been Partner of Thigpen, Blue, Stephens and Fellers Law Firm since 1976.

Blue and his wife Edna have one child.
