Dan Williams is a Republican member of the Alabama House of Representatives, representing the 5th District. He was elected on November 2, 2010. He formerly served as a member of the Athens City Board of Education from 1979 to 1984, and as a member of the Athens City Council from 1984 to 1992. He then served as Mayor of the City of Athens from 1992 until his election to the House in 2010.

Williams attended Auburn University. He formerly served as First Sergeant in the Alabama Army National Guards 1343rd Engineer Battalion as well.
