Miller was running in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing Illinois' 18th District. Miller was seeking the nomination on the Republican ticket. [3] The signature filing deadline was December 27, 2011, with the primary taking place on March 20, 2012. Incumbent Aaron Schock is seeking re-election on the Republican ticket.

Miller was removed from the official candidate list on February 2, 2012.[4]
