Dave Ballard was the Constitution Party candidate in the August 30, 2011 special election for the South Carolina House of Representatives, District 10. Ballard ran to fill the vacancy created when incumbent Daniel Cooper (R) resigned in April (effective June 29). The 20-year veteran of the house explained that he wanted to spend more time with his family.[1] Ballard was also the for the District 10 in the South Carolina House of Representatives in the November 2, 2010, state legislative elections.

Ballard graduated from Clemson University with a Master's degree in architecture. He is married to his wife, Cindy. They have two children[2]
