David G. "Dave" Reichert (b. August 29, 1950) is a Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives from the state of Washington. Reichert represents the 8th congressional district of Washington and was first elected to the House in 2004. Reichert is a potential candidate for the 2012 gubernatorial election.


After receiving his associate's degree from Concordia Lutheran College, Reichert went into the U.S. Air Force Reserves and the King County, WA, police force. He was elected county sheriff in 1997, and he served there until being elected to the U.S. House of Representatives.[1]
