David Gibbs (b. May 28, 1936) is a Democratic member of the Mississippi House of Representatives. He has represented the 36th District since 1993.

Gibbs is a loan broker and consultant. He has previously been a business development officer and a food inspector.

Gibbs attended Faulkner University, Kentucky State University, and Mississippi State University.

He is a member of the American Legion, American Red Cross, Clay County Business and Professional Association, Heroine of Jerico, Kiwanis Club, Masons, and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.[1]

On November 8, 2011, Gibbs won re-election to District 36 of the Mississippi House of Representatives. He defeated Jimmy Davidson in the primary on August 2, 2011.[2] Gibbs was unchallenged in the November 8 general election. [3]
