David Grimes was a Republican member of the Alabama House of Representatives, representing the 73rd district, Montgomery County. He was first elected in 2002.

Grimes is a Registered Representative with Princor Financial Corporation.

He currently serves as Deacon at Trinity Presbyterian Church, and is a member of Lifeline Children's Services Incorporated Board, Montgomery Lions Club, Young Men's Christian Association Camp Chandler Board, Montgomery Rotary Club, and Board Member/President of the Garden District Homeowners Association and Colverdale Homeowners Association.[1]

Grimes did not provide answers to the Alabama State Legislative Election 2006 National Political Awareness Test. The test provides voters with how a candidate would vote on the issues if elected.[2]

Grimes lost his re-election bid to the 73rd District Seat in 2010. He defeated Jeremy Walker in the primary. He was defeated by Joseph Lister Hubbard in the November 2 general election.[3][4]

On November 7, 2006, Grimes was re-elected to the 73rd District Seat in the Alabama House of Representatives, defeating opponent Larry A. Grewelle (D).[5]
