Jacoby ran in the 2012 election for Iowa House of Representatives District 74. Jacoby ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on June 5, 2012. No Republican candidates filed in the district. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[1][2]

Jacoby won re-election to the 30th District Seat in 2010 against Dustin Krutsinger (L). In the June 8th primary election, Jacoby defeated Democratic primary opponent John J. Stellmach by a margin of 1,165 to 159. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.[3]
