Lillis is a mid-level officer aboard the cruise ship MS Pride of America as the Executive Sous Chef. He has a degree in culinary arts.[3]

Elections for the office of Michigan House of Representatives will take place in 2014. A primary election was held on August 5, 2014, and a general election will take place on November 4, 2014. The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was April 22, 2014. David Lillis was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Incumbent Bradford Jacobsen defeated John Reilly in the Republican primary.[4][1]
