David Knudson was a Republican member of the South Dakota State Senate from 2003 to 2011, representing the 14th district. In 2010, Knudson was ineligible to run under South Dakota's term limits. He ran for governor but was defeated in the republican primary on June 8. [1] Prior to leaving the senate, he was the Majority Leader.

Knudson did not run for re-election to the 14th District Seat in 2010. He was defeated in the Republican primary for governor on June 8. The general election took place on November 2, 2010.


On Nov. 4, 2008, Knudson won re-election to the 14th District Seat in the South Dakota State Senate, defeating opponent Bob Stevens (D). [2]
