David Koehler is a Democratic member of the Illinois State Senate. Koehler was first elected to the Illinois Senate in 2006 with his term expiring in 2010. Before becoming a Senator, Koehler was a City Council member for the City of Peoria from 2002 to 2007.

Koehler graduated from Yankton College with his Bachelor's Degree in 1971 and also with a Masters in Divinity from United Theological Seminary.

Koehler is running for re-election to the 46th District Seat in the Illinois State Senate with no opposition. The election takes place on November 2, 2010. Koehler ran unopposed in the Democratic primary election on February 2nd.[2]

2006

On November 7, 2006, Democrat David Koehler won re-election to the Illinois State Senate District 46 receiving 32,873 votes, ahead of Republican Ernest Russell receiving 24,209 votes.[3]
