David Luechtefeld is a Republican member of the Illinois State Senate. He has represented the 58th district since 1995 and currently serves as an Assistant Minority Leader. Luechtefeld graduated from Saint Louis University with his Bachelor's Degree in 1962 and with his Master's Degree from Southern Illinois-Edwardsville in 1970.

Luechtefeld is a retired coach and teacher.
