David Wanzenried is a Democratic member of the Montana State Senate, representing District 49.

He was also a candidate for the Governor of Montana in the 2012 election, but withdrew from the race on July 8, 2011.

Wanzenried served in the Montana State House of Representatives from 2001 to 2007. From 2005 to 2007, he was House Democratic Leader. He then joined the Montana State Senate in 2007. He has served in that position since, representing the 49th district.
