David Whitaker is a Democratic member of the Arkansas House of Representatives, representing District 85. He was first elected to the chamber in 2012.


Whitaker earned his B.A. from the University of Mary Washington in 1992 and his J.D. from the University of Arkansas in 1999. His professional experience includes working an attorney. Whitaker served in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant from 1983 to 1989.

Whitaker ran in the 2012 election for Arkansas House of Representatives, District 85. Whitaker defeated Maylon Rice in the May 22 Democratic primary and defeated Paul Graham (R) in the November 6, 2012, general election.[2][3][4]
