Dawn Adams is the Position 2 member on the Kennewick School Board. She is seeking a fourth four-year term against challenger Brian Bradford in the November 5, 2013 election. Adams was first appointed to the chamber in May 2001 and won election to the board in November 2001.

Biography

Adams earned a B.A. in Business Administration and Information Systems from Washington State University. She later earned a M.S. in Computer Science from Washington State University. Adams previously worked for 24 years at the U.S. Department of Energy Hanford site. She currently works as a Senior Program Director at Parsons. Adams and her husband, Erick En'Wezoh, have four children.[1]

Adams is running for re-election to the Position 2 seat against challenger Brian Bradford. Adams and Bradford will be on the ballot for the November 5, 2013 general election.

2009

Adams won re-election to the Position 2 seat on November 3, 2009. She defeated challenger Uby Creek to win her third term.[2]

Kennewick School District is located in Benton County, Washington
The City of Kennewick is located along the Columbia River in south-central Washington. The population of Kennewick was 73,917 according to the 2010 U.S. Census.[3]

Demographics

Kennewick lags behind state averages for median income, higher education achievement and poverty rate. The percentage of city residents over 25 years old with undergraduate degrees (20.7%) is below the state average (31.4%). The 2010 U.S. Census calculated Kennewick's median income at $49,299 while the state median income was $58,890. Kennewick had a poverty rate of 15.9% in the 2010 U.S. Census while the state rate was 12.5%.[3]
