Defense of Marriage Amendments is how Marriage and family on the ballot‎ that enact state-level constitutional amendments to define marriage as between one man and one woman are commonly referred to by supporters of such measures.

Altogether, voters in 26 states have passed state constitutional amendments that ban gay marriage: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Wisconsin.
