Impact of redistricting

New maps were approved by the Delaware General Assembly in late June 2011. Democrats, who controlled the process after years of Republican control of the Assembly, are expected to "shore up their gains" in the House according to Louis Jacobson of Governing.[3] Two New Castle County districts were notably moved. The 11th District, held by Greg Lavelle (who would ultimately run for the District 4 Senate seat), was moved to south of Middletown and stretched to add northwestern Kent County. The 20th District, held by Nick Manolakos (who would run for re-election in District 22), was relocated to eastern Sussex County, covering Milton and Lewes.[4]

Qualifications
