Denis Richard McDonough (b. December 2, 1969, in Stillwater, Minnesota) is the current White House Chief of Staff. He was appointed on January 25, 2013, by President Barack Obama. He is President Obama's 4th Chief of Staff.[1]

He previously served as Deputy National Security Advisor and Chief of the White House National Security Staff for President Obama.[2]

Biography

McDonough was born in Stillwater, Minnesota, and graduated from St. John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota. He earned his master's degree from Georgetown University before beginning his career in politics.[3]
