Dennis Black (b. December 18, 1939) is a Democratic member of the Iowa State Senate, representing District 15 sicne 2013. He previously represented District 21 from 1995 to 2013. Black previously served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 1982 to 1994.

Black earned his BS in Forest Management from Utah State University, Logan, in 1963. He went on to receive his MS in Natural Resources Economics in 1965.

Black is a Natural Resources Consultant and Conservationist. He has worked as District Commissioner for Jasper County Soil Conservation. He is also past Director of the Jasper County Conservation Board.
