Dennis Parker was a 2012 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 1st Congressional District of Nebraska. He was defeated by incumbent Jeff Fortenberry in the primary on May 15, 2012.[1]

Biography

Parker was born in Eugene, Oregon, and moved to Nebraska before the age of 3. Upon graduation from Silver Creek High School in 1969, he attended La Verne University in La Verne, California, George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and Grace University in Omaha, Nebraska. He then served as an aviation storekeeper in the U.S. Navy from 1971-1975. He has been a professional musician and youth coordinator at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus, Nebraska, and currently serves as the president of a non-profit.[2]

Parker ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Nebraska's 1st District. He sought the nomination on the Republican ticket, but he was defeated by incumbent Jeff Fortenberry in the primary on May 15, 2012. [3]
