Diane Allen has been a Republican member of the New Jersey Senate since 1998. Bills that have been sponsored by Senator Allen include Senate Bill 86 and Senate Bill 149.[1]

Allen graduated with a B.A. in philosophy from Bucknell University and is currently the Deputy Minority Leader in the state senate. [2]

In addition to being a senator, Allen is the current president of VidComm, Incorporated. She was also the Deputy Republican Conference Leader of the New Jersey State Senate from 2002 to 2003. Allen is on the Board of Directors for the United Way.[3]

Allen is running for re-election to the District 7 State Senate seat in the 2011 election. She defeated Carole LoKan-Moore in the June 7 Republican primary. Allen is opposed by Gail Cook in the general election which takes place on November 9, 2011. [4]

In 2007 Allen was re-elected to the New Jersey State Senate District 7. Allen (R) finished with 23,185 votes while her opponent Richard Dennison (D) finished with 18,511 votes.[5] Allen raised $410,847 for her campaign fund.[6]
