Domingo Martinez is the Santa Fe County Assessor, and is a Democratic candidate for New Mexico State Auditor in the 2014 elections. Martinez previously served as state auditor from 1999-2006. Due to term limits he was unable to seek a third consecutive term.[1]

Biography

Martinez has served as Santa Fe County Assessor since 2007. Prior to that he was the New Mexico State Auditor from 1999 to 2006. He has worked as a staffer in the State Auditor's Office and the state Tax and Revenue Department.

During his term as state auditor, Martinez was the first public official to find evidence of corruption surrounding former state Treasurer Robert Vigil, who eventually ended up in federal prison.[1]

Martinez is running for election to the New Mexico State Auditor. Martinez is seeking the Democratic nomination in the primary.[2] The general election takes place November 4, 2014.
