Don Gaetz (b. January 22, 1947) is a Republican member of the Florida State Senate, representing District 1. He was first elected to the chamber in 2006. He began serving as President of the Senate in the 2013 legislative session.

Gaetz served as Town Chair of Seaside, Florida from 1990 to 1991, a member of the Okaloosa School Board from 1994 to 2000 and Superintendent of the Okaloosa County School District from 2000 to 2006.

Biography

Gaetz earned his bachelor's degree in Religion/Political Science from Concordia University and his M.P.A. from Troy State University. His professional experience includes co-founding the VITAS Healthcare Corporation and serving as its vice chair from 1984 to 2004.
