Don Vanpool was a Democratic candidate for District 84 of the Wisconsin State Assembly. The primary election was on September 14, 2010 and the general election was on November 2, 2010.

Vanpool is a Manager at General Electric. He holds a MBA from the University of Chicago. [1]

Vanpool was defeated by Republican Mike Kuglitsch in the November 2 general election. Vanpool was unopposed in the primary election. [2]

Campaign themes

  • Favors high speed rail between Milwaukee and Madison, and sees it as "and investment" rather than an expense.
  • Concerned about young people having to leave Wisconsin for jobs., and that a "modern transit system" such as high speed rail would help the problem.
