Donne Trotter is a Democratic member of the Illinois State Senate. Trotter has served in the Illinois Senate since 1993. Before becoming a Senator, Trotter served in the Illinois House of Representatives from 1988 to 1993.

Trotter graduated from Chicago State with his Bachelor's degree and later graduated from Loyola-Chicago with his Law degree. Before becoming a elected official, Trotter is a former Hospital Administrator.
