Gage won election in the 2012 election for Vermont House of Representatives Rutland 5-4. Gage was unopposed in the August 28 Republican primary and defeated Sherri Durgin-Campbell (D) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[1][2]

He was opposed by Gale Courcelle (D) in the November 2, 2010 general election. According to unofficial results Gage was defeated, but as of November 15 a recount is pending.[3]
