Jackson is a U.S. Navy veteran who worked in city planning for 15 years before pursuing street vending. One day in 2010, the vendor spotted a smoking SUV. He called the police, and in doing so, thwarted a bomb plot in Times Square.
Jackson is running in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing New York's 18th District. He is seeking Democratic Party ticket. He is opposed in the primary by Rich Becker, Matt Alexander, Tom Wilson, and Sean Maloney. The general election is November 6, 2012.
