Utah

Early voting began this Tuesday, June 12, in Utah. Polling places will remain open every weekday through June 22. The primary is scheduled for June 26, 2012.[1]

State elections director for Lieutenant Governor Greg Bell expects voter turnout will be between 20 and 25 percent. This is significantly higher than the average 10 to 15 percent.[1]

Thomas said, "We have more big races this time, like races for the U.S. Senate, the [Salt Lake] county mayor and the attorney general... Those campaigns are spending a lot of money to get people to vote, and it helps remind people about the election."[1]
