Eleanor Kinnaird (b. November 14, 1931) is a Democratic member of the North Carolina State Senate, representing District 23. She was first elected to the chamber in 1996.

Biography

Kinnaird earned her B.A. from Carleton College in 1953. She went on to receive her M.M. in Music from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in 1973. Kinnaird also earned her J.D. from North Carolina Central University School of Law in 1992. She has been a music teacher, library technical assistant and attorney. Kinnaird served as Mayor of Carrboro from 1987 to 1996.
