Elena Herrada is a 2014 Green Party candidate for District Sixth District of the Michigan House of Representatives. She previously ran for this position in 2012.

Biography

Herrada earned her B.S. in criminal justice and chicano boricua studies in 1980 and her M.A. in industrial relations in 1992 from Wayne State University.[1]

Professionally, Herrada co-founded the Centro Obrero de Detroit, an immigrant rights organization, and Fronteras Nortenas, an organization dedicated to chronicling the lives of Mexicans from Michigan. Elections for the office of Michigan House of Representatives will take place in 2014. A primary election was held on August 5, 2014, and a general election will take place on November 4, 2014. The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was April 22, 2014. Stephanie Chang defeated Tyrone Carter and five others in the Democratic primary. Tairia Bridges was unopposed in the Republican primary.[2][3]
