Ellen Nowak is a commissioner of the Wisconsin Public Service Commission. She was first appointed in July 2011 by Governor Scott Walker.[1]

Biography

An attorney by trade, Nowak practiced business litigation at Mallery & Zimmerman, SC from 1998 to 2002. She was the legal counsel and then chief of staff to the Speaker of the Wisconsin Assembly from 2002 to 2006, and has worked as the deputy director of School Choice Wisconsin.

Nowak was serving as chief of staff to Waukesha County Executive Dan Vrakas when she was appointed to the WPSC in 2011.[1]

Walker stated, "An important role of the Public Service Commission is to ensure fairness and responsibility when it comes to utility costs and quality for Wisconsin consumers, and I know that Ellen will fulfill her duties with zeal."[2]
