A Ellington Township Fire Levy Increase measure is on the August 7, 2012 ballot in the township of Ellington, which is in Tuscola County.

This measure seeks to increase the current fire levy by a rate of $1 per $1,000 of assessed value for a period of five years in order to further pay for fire protection services in the township.[1]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall Ellington Township impose an increase of up to one mill ($1.00 per $1,000 of taxable value) in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution and levy it for (5) years, 2013 through 2017 inclusive, for Township Fire Protection, in which a one mill increase will raise an estimated $34,195 in the first year the millage is levied.[2]
