Emil Jones, III is a Democratic member of the Illinois State Senate. Jones was first elected to the Illinois Senate in 2008 with his term expiring in 2012. Jones III is the grandson of former Senate President Emil Jones II who retired in 2008.

Jones attended Chicago State and Robert Morris College. Before becoming a Senator, Jones III was the Former Administrator of the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
