Eric Cioppa is the Maine Superintendent of Insurance. He was appointed as acting superintendent by Gov. Paul LePage on June 1, 2011[1] and became the official superintendent on September 27, 2011 when he was confirmed by the Maine State Senate.[2]

Biography

Cioppa joined the Bureau of Insurance in 1988 as a statistician III and served as the supervisor of the Workers’ Compensation section prior to becoming Deputy Superintendent in 1998.[3]

After being named the acting superintendent in June of 2011, Cioppa was unanimously confirmed as superintendent effective September 27, 2011.[3]
