Erin Bilbray-Kohn is a 2014 Democratic candidate seeking election to the U.S. House representing the 3rd Congressional District of Nevada.

Biography

Bilbray-Kohn is a committeewoman on the Democratic National Committee. She founded Emerge Nevada in 2006, a group that trains women to run for office.[1]

Residency

Bilbray-Kohn experienced controversy within hours of her campaign announcement. Her residence is outside of Nevada's 3rd district. The law does not require residency to run for office. Bilbray-Kohn defended her run saying, “We live in this community. We’ve spent most of our lives here. It’s where I get my haircut, where we do our grocery shopping, and where our kids play. Redistricting may have just put our house just outside the line, but it doesn’t change my deep roots in Southern Nevada and my commitment to this community and district.”[1]

Bilbray-Kohn is the daughter of former Nevada Representative James Bilbray. She is married to with two daughters.[1]
