A Evangeline Township Fire Levy Increase measure was on the August 7, 2012 ballot in the township of Evangeline, which is in Charlevoix County.

This measure sought to increase the current fire levy by a rate of $.80 per $1,000 of assessed value for a period of three years in order to further pay for fire fire protection services in the township.[2]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall the limitation on the amount of ad valorem taxes which may be levied by the Township of Evangeline, Charlevoix County, Michigan, against taxable property in the Township be increased by up to .8 mills ($0.80 per $1,000 of taxable value) for a period of three (3) years, 2013 through 2015 inclusive, for the purpose of providing funds for fire protection services, and shall the Township levy such millage for this purpose? lf approved and levied in its entirety, this millage would raise an estimated $58,173 for the Township in 2013.[3]
