A Fairgrove Township Fire Protection Levy Increase measure was on the August 2, 2011 ballot in the township of Fairgrove which is in Tuscola County.

This measure was approved

This measure sought to increase the current fire protection levy by a rate of $.50 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to help pay for operational costs of fire protection services in the township.[2]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Shall Fairgrove Township levy up to .5 mill ($.50 per $1,000.00 of taxable value) above the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Section 6, of the Michigan Constitution, and levy it for 5 years, December 1, 2011 through December 1, 2015 inclusive, for the purpose of raising revenues for fire protection service in Fairgrove Township, raising an estimated $25,000.00 in the first year the millage is levied.[3]
