Felix Ortiz (b. November 2, 1959) is a Democratic member of the New York State Assembly. He has represented District 51 since 1995. Ortiz's political experiences also include member of New York City Department of City Planning; member of the 72nd precinct community council; and democratic district leader for the 51st Assembly District.

Ortiz's professional experiences include the United States Army; administration of criminal justice, New York City Mayor's Office; senior budget analyst for Office of Management and Budget; and administration manager for Bureau of Management and Budget, Office of Bronx Borough President.

Ortiz earned a BS in business administration from Boricua College and a MPA from New York University. He is married to Elba.[1]

Ortiz ran unopposed in the September 14 Democratic primary. He faced Henry Lallave (R) in the general election on November 2. In addition to running on the Democratic ticket, he ran on the Working Familes ticket.

2008

On November 4, 2008 Ortiz won re-election to the New York State Assembly, District 51, defeating opponents Luis Garcia (R) and Grace Coen (C).

Ortiz raised $40,235 for his campaign while Garcia raised $0 and Coen raised $0.[2]
