statewide ballot in Florida
as an initiated constitutional amendment
. The measure would have required the legislature to take tenth grade Florida
Comprehensive Assessment Test (FCAT) during the first year they are elected and continue to take the exam each year until such time as they have received a passing grade.
The sponsoring group was Vote at 16 political action committee. The group also sponsored Florida's Vote at 16 initiative (2008).
The initiative was approved for circulation by the Florida Secretary of State though no signatures were validated, and the measure did not make the ballot.
