Frank Dermody (b. May 29, 1951) is a Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, representing District 33. He was first elected to the chamber in 1990. He currently serves as Minority Floor Leader.

Biography

Dermody earned his B.A. in History from Columbia University in 1973 and his J.D. from Indiana University School of Law in 1982. His professional experience includes working as a District Justice for Verona from 1987 to 1989 and as an attorney.

Elections for the office of Pennsylvania House of Representatives will take place in 2014. A primary election took place May 20, 2014. The general election will be held on November 4, 2014. The signature-filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 11, 2014. Incumbent Frank Dermody was unopposed in the Democratic primary. Sean Watson was set to face Gretchen Justine Schmitt in the Republican primary, but Schmitt withdrew from the race on March 25, 2014, leaving Watson unopposed. Dermody and Watson will face off in the general election.[1][2]

Dermody ran in the 2012 election for Pennsylvania House District 33. Dermody ran unchallenged in the Democratic primary on April 24 and defeated Gerry Vaerewyck (R) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012. [3][4]
