Frank Ruff has been a Republican member of the Virginia State Senate since 2000, representing the 15th district.

Ruff attended the University of Richmond. He is a member of the Clarksville Presbyterian Church.

In addition to serving as senator Ruff is a business owner. Previously he served as a member of the House of Delegates from 1994-2000.
