Love earned his BA in Political Science in 1999. He went on to receive his MPA from the University of Arkansas, Little Rock in 2004. He is currently attending the University of Arkansas School for Medical Sciences.
Love has worked as child and adult services coordinator for the Arkansas Foodbank Network. He has also worked as a grants administrator.

Love defeated Archie Frank Adcock in the May 18 primary. He then defeated Independent Rick Daes in the November 2 general election.[3][4]
