Two School District Sinking Fund Levy Measures will be on the November 2, 2010 ballot in the Fulton and Lansing school district areas, which is in Clinton County.

The Fulton school measure seeks to renew the current property tax levy which is set at a rate of $3 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to provide for the sinking fund of the school.

The Lansing school measure seeks to renew the current property tax levy which is set at a rate of $1.50 per $1,000 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to provide for the sinking fund of the school.[1]

The Lansing school district has been accused of using school funds to promote this measure, something which is illegal under state laws. The school district distributed fliers which call to promote the school's health and to help fund the future, but others have noted that even though this does note outright say to vote Yes, it is as close as they could get without going over the line. School officials noted that they were only trying to promote residents to get out to vote, not to persuade which way they should vote.[2]
